St. James’ Women’s Day 2007 began it’s conclusion Friday, June 22nd with an evening of “Pampering For The Spiritual Woman”at the church. Women from Elgin and the near suburbs participated. Several vendors and services were available for the evening which began at 6pm and ended at 9pm. Refreshments were served. On Sunday June 24th, the women ended their 12 month “Stir Up The Gift Of God” $10,000.00 Rally during the 10:30am service. All the women of the church participated in the activities which included a Salad Luncheon in May. The Chairpersons, Sis. Phyllis Malone, Sis. Jeri Smith and Sis. Vivian Steele, (all with over 30 years of membership) presented the church with $10,000.00 to be applied to the church’s mortgage. Nationally known special guest speaker, Evangelist Jeanette (Rogers) Thornton made it a high spirited service with her gifted singing and preaching. Pastor Francis Senyah gave thanks and high praise to the chairpersons and all the women for such a successful Women’s Day.
