A Message From Our Pastor

Posted on Sun, Mar 22, 2020

The church is not a building, the church is all of us. Although we miss seeing all of you immensely, Coronavirus does not stop us from fulfilling our mission of connecting people to their next step in Christ.

Thanks to all of you who joined us online as we transitioned from worshiping together in person, to worshiping together online. Where there is a great challenge, there is also a great opportunity. We will continue to do ministry online – starting with our Sunday worship, we’re will be adding new channels to ensure we can meet the growing demand for an unfiltered word from God. Our current estimate is that we will be online only through at least the first Sunday in April. We’re staying close to health officials and estimate this may be our reality for the next few weeks.

We are also working to quickly adjust to ensure our weekly worship stays engaging and exciting online. We are also working to move more groups online and develop our prayer line, bible study and Sunday School experience. Stay tuned as we transition more ministries online.

Prayer is critical during this season. We need to invite God into every aspect of this health crisis. We are continuing to pray for our government leaders both national and local, for our health professionals, our first responders and for our families and finances.

Our financial gifts to support what God is doing at St. James AME Church make ministry possible every day of the year. In this season of rapid change, our church is providing ministry in new ways each day by counseling via phone and video, worship services, and more. We are continuing to meet the needs of our church family and our community in any ways we can. All of these things require financial resources. I encourage you to take a moment right now and make a gift to support ministry at St. James. You can easily make a one-time or recurring gift via these channels:
