Happy New Year's from Pastor John Halbert

Posted on Thu, Dec 31, 2015

Dear Visitor to our Website:

I wanted to take a moment and send a note to wish you and yours a very Happy New Year!

In writing to the Church at Philippi Paul said in Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV); 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The new year ahead will no doubt bring many challenges and changes as we continue to living in a world that has become increasingly hostile to the ways of the Lord.

Yet, we are to still hold forth the Cross of Jesus Christ (and His Resurrection) as the answer to the needs of humanity.  We cannot shy away from this responsibility because if we don't tell them… who will?

While customs, styles and fashions will come and go, the Gospel remains the same and Jesus Christ continues to bring healing and health to the hurting soul.

What an assurance we have as we read scriptures like: Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

In a world of “shades of gray”, and the belief that there is no absolute truth, we know as Christians that it remains our mission to not let the world dictate our message, and when we do that, we can be assured the Lord will be there for us every step of the way.

We can have assurance over any doubts that Christ will be there for us as we read in John 10:28 (KJV) 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

You don't have to walk one day or more led by a “spirit of fear”, because we have been assured that God has not given us a “spirit of fear”!

Look ahead with confidence and boldness!  Christ will be there for you!

Blessings in Christ,
Pastor John Halbert
